AleSmith Brewing Celebrates Tony Gwynn Day with Tribute Beer Releases
Celebrate Tony Gwynn’s 2000th and 3000th hit milestone at the Miramar Brewery on August 5th
SAN DIEGO, CA (Jul. 2023) – AleSmith Brewing Company is proud to announce the upcoming Tony Gwynn Day celebration on Saturday, August 5th, at the brewery. The event will commemorate legendary baseball player, Tony Gwynn, and feature two special commemorative beers in 16oz 4-pack cans, with eye-catching artwork designed by Ground Floor Murals.
Tony Gwynn is considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, having earned 15 All-Star selections, eight National League batting titles, five Gold Glove Awards, and induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. AleSmith Brewing Company collaborated with Mr. Padre himself in 2014 to brew .394 Pale Ale, named after his highest batting average in 1994, which is available on tap and in package throughout San Diego County. In honor of Gwynn’s milestone 2000th and 3000th career hits in 1993 and 1999, AleSmith will be releasing two commemorative beers, paying homage to his illustrious career. This is the second year of the Miramar brewery hosting this event kicking it off in 2022.
The celebration will take place at AleSmith Brewing Company, from 2 PM to 6 PM. Visitors will enjoy live art activations, DJs, raffle prizes, and food trucks on-site throughout the day. The main attraction will be the Padres vs. Dodgers Watch Party at 5:40 PM, complete with drink specials available to support the home team.
